Chevy Chase Lake to be Stocked with Rainbow Trout this Winter
Christmas is coming early for Chevy Chase residents who love to fish.
The Maryland Parks and Wildlife Department says it will bring 8,000 rainbow trout out to Chevy Chase Lake through the winter.
The first batch of trout was released last week. More fish will be brought in the coming months, officials say.
Chevy Chase Lake was created in 1892 when Coquelin Run, the small tributary which flows to Rock Creek, was dammed near the intersection of Jones Bridge Road and Connecticut Avenue.
Parks officials remind residents that those 16 and older must obtain a license to fish in Maryland.
