Arrive Silver Spring Adopts Aquatic IPM Strategy
Executives from Red Tail Residential, the management company for the Arrive group of apartment communities, say the Arrive Silver Spring apartments will adopt successful aquatic-based integrated pest management (IPM) strategies recently employed at Arrive Wheaton.
“We put a stop to ground-level building entry in Wheaton, and we’ll do it in Silver Spring too,” said Red Tail COO Padraic Ratigan. “These strategies are not a one-time thing. Our commitment to sustaining water-based IPM will be embodied in the new Arrive Silver Spring Aquatic Center, offering residents more than 300,000 gallons of subterranean aquatic features.”
Arrive Silver Spring renters, though skeptical of the IPM strategy, say they love the new amenity. “As long as they remove the floaters and keep chlorine levels boosted, the pool is a game-changer,” said resident Genny Ledecky. “I signed the kids up for the Arrive Albatross Swim Team next summer!”
Arrive Silver Spring confirmed that legendary Montgomery County swim coach Joe Flaherty will lead the Albatross next summer.
Red Tail executives say ground-level aquatic IPM was a success in Wheaton. With the basement rodent-free, facility managers are moving up to higher levels. “Now that we found the perfect pH for ongoing control and safe swimming, work has begun on the mezzanine level splash pad,” Ratigan said.
An inspection tour of Arrive Silver Spring by a delegation of Montgomery County officials was cut short when only Councilmember Kristin Mink showed up. A communication snafu sent Councilmember Will Jawando, County Executive Marc Elrich, and surprise guest Colin Kaepernick, to the Arrive North Bethesda complex instead, where they held an impromptu press conference outside the mah jongg room.
“The only time I saw vermin was in the lobby,” Elrich remarked.
