Disruptive Horse Seen Lurking in Olney

Organizers of next weekend's Olney Days Parade and Festival are on high alert after the runaway horse who wreaked havoc at last summer's Takoma Park July 4th parade was seen lurking near Sisters Sandwiches & Such.

The riderless brown horse caused pandemonium along the Takoma Park parade route last summer as it raced past the floats and marching bands, scattering bystanders and knocking two people to the ground.

The horse was seen scoping out the Olney Days Parade staging area at the Olney Manor Recreational Park yesterday afternoon and again this morning around Roots Market Shopping Center.

Olney officials say deputized Chamber of Commerce directors with tranquilizer guns will be on hand to keep crowds safe. "Just watch it try to get by me!" exclaimed board member Maddy Dhrylesh.

Residents who see the horse are urged not to approach the potentially dangerous animal and to instead contact Montgomery County Lost Exotic Pets.
