City of Rockville Reveals New Branding Identity
The City of Rockville has introduced a new brand motto, “Rise Together,” aimed at fostering community unity by embracing cannabis culture. There is also a new stylized city logo.
Rockville outsourced the "Rise Together" slogan, logo and branding project in a six-figure contract to Texas-based consulting firm Medium Impact, whose award-winning work includes Bloomingdale’s Spike Your Best Friend’s Eggnog campaign and Pepsi’s Kendall Jenner advertisement.
"As reflected in our new logo and motto, Rockville's brand pillars include safety/trust, connectedness, creativity, innovation, freedom and empathy—like the high from a dank OG Kush," said Rockville Councilmember Freddy Freekowtski.
The updated branding will be officially revealed on March 17 during a press event at the RISE Dispensary. "The green in our new branding made St. Patrick's Day the natural choice," Councilmember Phineas T. Phreak said with a giggle.
According to the RISE Dispensary website, which lists two Montgomery County locations, their 97 stores in 14 states create a community around cannabis that is as inclusive as it is sustainable. "In parallel, our new motto, Rise Together, encourages the community to come together to continue to make Rockville the best place to live, work, and toke," Councilmember Franklin Freek said.
The City of Rockville new logo, fonts and colors will be applied across all media types. Each city department will have their own strain-themed sub-branding. A prerelease for Public Works appears to be Lemon Cherry Gelato, according to a Montgonion expert.
"The time to Rise Together as a community is now. Come down to The Square, sit on The Bench and pass The Bong to a neighbor!" said Mayor Rodney Richpigge.
"Rise Together" and the logo package were approved by the City of Rockville Council in a 5:1 decision, with the lone dissenting vote coming from Councilmember Adam Van Grack. "I'm more of a beer guy," he told The Montgonion.
