Rockville Celebrates Sleestak American Heritage Week

The City of Rockville Mayor and Council signed a proclamation today declaring May 19-25 as Sleestak American Heritage Week in the Montgomery County, Maryland municipality.

According to the proclamation, Sleestak Americans have made enormous contributions to the diversity and prosperity of nocturnal American underground society.

Sleestak Americans have succeeded as preeminent warriors, Nobel laureates, time travelers, paleontologists, and Altrusian moth breeders, City officials proclaimed.

Rockville also recognized Rockville's Sister City, The Lost City, Land of the Lost, including the Library of Skulls, for sharing Sleestak philosophy, culture and ancient history.

As part of Rockville's Sleestak American Heritage celebration, the city will host the annual Sleestak Pylon Temple Festival at Red Gate Park on September 24.

Rockville's Sleestak American Heritage Week proclamation is one of 17 approved by the Mayor and Council in May. The City's first proclamation for June observes Gaithersburg Book Festival Envy Month.
