After a 13-Year Hiatus, CHFstival Coming to DC
A remake of one of the D.C. area’s most popular music festivals — the CHFstival — is coming in September and relocating to Nationals Park.
After a week of surges in pacemakers, generated last week by an article in Senior Beacon, lead sponsor Robert's Oxygen and Nationals Park announced the lineup for the show. Billed as “one small step, one huge breath,” headliners include The Beta Blockers and Angiotension.
"When we heard this may have been the last year a D-Day veteran visited Normandy, it all made sense to bring back on CHFstival," said Robert's Oxygen CEO Sable Angina.
With the expected popularity of the show, the CHFstival is using a lottery system, which is open now through Sunday, June 16 with ticket offices in Leisure World, Riderwood and all Sunrise locations. Those entering the lottery will be made aware if their ticket order is fulfilled by telephone call to their landline.
“The first in 1990 had too few porta potties, but we aren't anticipating that again,” said Will Fecál from show sponsor Kimberly-Clark. “Silhouette for Women and Real Fit for Men are fan-friendly systems for what’ll be a long, high-demand festival.”
Many in this year’s flatline-up peaked at earlier CHFstivals at RFK Stadium, including Los del Rio, Tag Team, Vanilla Ice, and Sir Mix-A-Lot.
“Quintessential CHFstival acts have been doing an unprecedented business, earning more karaoke bar revenue than they ever came close to back in the day,” said Fecál.
