The Three Largest Building Restrooms in Montgomery County
Montgomery County isn’t known for its abundance of restrooms in public buildings, and while Baltimore boasts the 13 largest loos in Maryland, Montgomery County is home to the 14th and 15th largest public space lavatories in the state. In this article, we examine the three largest restrooms in Montgomery County public buildings. Notably, the county’s biggest lavatory was constructed in the last five years, in a building where top bureaucrats toil.
3. Upcounty Regional Services Center: The largest of the five regional service centers, it provides services for Northern Montgomery County citizens and businesses in its 100,000 square feet of space. The lobby level boasts a pair of 2,565 square foot restrooms, the men's with 12 urinals and 10 stalls, and the women's with 18 stalls.
2. Montgomery County Public Safety Headquarters: The landmark building, at nearly 400,000 square feet, is the county’s largest facility, housing administrative offices for transportation management, emergency management and more. Locker rooms on the lower-level feature 14 urinals and 12 stalls on the men's side, and 20 stalls for the ladies.
1. M-NCPPC Wheaton Headquarters: This 14-story building, completed in 2020, houses the Montgomery County Planning Board, Montgomery Parks, and Montgomery Planning. With so much bullshit coming out of these agencies, its oversized restrooms flush 12,000 gallons per day. The twelfth-floor men's room features 18 urinals, 16 spacious stalls, 2 handicapped stalls, and 4 sinks. The women's room on the eleventh floor has 24 oversized stalls plus 6 handicapped, 32 sinks with mirrors to the ceiling, and 4 urinals.
