1. Lake Whetstone
Lake Whetstone, the largest body of water in Montgomery Village, is home to an abundance of marine life, including the iconic blue crab. Stretching over 26 square acres, the lake provides countless crabbing opportunities.
Best Locations: Focus on boathouse pier pylons, shallow waters with marsh grasses, and submerged structures.
2. Coquelin Run
The two-mile long Coquelin Run, a tributary of Rock Creek meandering through Chevy Chase, is as well known for its meaty "fat crabs" as its roaring rapids.
