Health Officials Urge Residents to Unmask in Vehicles
Windows Down, Masks Down!
Windows Down, Masks Down! Is the theme of a new campaign launched by the Montgomery County Department of Health and Fitness in conjunction with Office of General Information. The county is encouraging people driving by themselves in their personal vehicles to take off their protective face masks.
“Unless you are a rideshare driver or recently had passengers known or suspected of having Covid-19, there’s no need to wear a mask when driving alone in your own car,” said agency spokesperson Rajesh Koothrappali.
The new campaign is long overdue, according to OGI. “People in neighboring jurisdictions have been ridiculing Montgomery County residents for the past two years and it is affecting mental health.” reads an OGI statement.
