Rockville Sues Sign Installation Firm

Rockville, MD -- What started as a downtown beautification project on the rusty, graffiti covered Park Road CSX railroad bridge has turned into a messy dispute between the City of Rockville and Clarksburg painting contractor Montgomery Essential Sign Specialists.

Rockville officials say MESS used the wrong letters on the new bridge mural, misspelling the name of the city.

MESS denies it made a mistake, insisting it used the exact AutoCAD file provided by the city's design team.

"There's no way we got in wrong," said MESS President Dy Slexic. "We had two completely different projects that day."

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February.
