New and Coming Soon to Glenmont Shopping Center: June 2024

With plans for the Glenmont Galleria kiboshed after county diversity, equity and inclusion studies, below is a list of businesses that are new and coming soon to the Glenmont Shopping Center (12331 Georgia Ave) in Silver Spring:

New: Loud Guy Screaming about Jesus through an Amplifier
Fresh off an 18-month engagement at the corner of Viers Mill and Randolph, sort of Aspen Hill but not quite Wheaton's favorite unintelligible street preacher holds hourly religious rants Monday through Saturday from 9am to 4pm, and Sunday from 6am to 12noon, in front of Irene's Pupusas at the north end of the Glenmont Shopping Center.

Coming Soon: Sweaty Salvadorian Selling Produce from a Truck
Scheduled to open in the Glenmont Shopping Center parking lot adjacent to Georgia Avenue in the next few weeks, the unrefrigerated former UTZ delivery truck will be located in the space that was previously occupied by Bitter Bolivian Selling Produce from an Econoline Van, next to the 1998 Winnebago with expired tags. We will provide an update when additional information becomes available.

Coming Soon: Just Pitties
It has been one year since signage went up for Just Pitties, which is taking over the space previously occupied by Grease Aroma Grill. We were told by a representative from the company that the Pitbull-only pet store is expected to open in July. Pittie pups are bred at company-owned facilities in Anacostia. Just Pitties has additional locations in Chillum and Hyattsville.

Pop-Up Summer Concerts
The Summer 'Strings' Series at the Glenmont Shopping Center features a rotation of electric violinists whose precision playing spans the genre from Cannon in D to Devil Went Down to Georgia and nothing in between.
